This week marks the celebration of the traditional East Asian Mid-Autumn Festival, a time symbolizing reunion, gratitude, and the sharing of blessings. To honor this special occasion, the Performing for Seniors youth team delivered 60 mooncakes to Hopelink in Bellevue to support their holiday celebration and bring festive warmth to local families in need.
Jodi Peña, Food Program Manager at Hopelink, expressed heartfelt appreciation for this gesture, praising the young volunteers for their compassion and cultural generosity. Through this simple yet meaningful act, students not only shared an important cultural tradition but also embodied the festival’s deeper values of unity and community care. The experience reminded everyone that service can be both local and cultural—bridging generations and traditions while nurturing a spirit of giving within the next generation.
